Freetown, 2nd April, 2026. The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) today engaged the World Bank in a high-level meeting aimed at reviewing progress on ongoing public procurement reforms in Sierra Leone.
The discussions focused on strengthening transparency, efficiency, and accountability across the procurement system, with particular emphasis on the continued rollout of the Electronic Government Procurement (E-GP) platform. The NPPA highlighted significant strides made in digitizing key processes, including supplier registration, which has enhanced access and improved service delivery for businesses nationwide.
The engagement also underscored progress in the review of the Public Procurement Act, 2016, as well as plans for the formal launch and dissemination of the MAPS assessment report. Both NPPA and the World Bank reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening procurement reforms and supporting sustainable development outcomes. The Authority remains focused on delivering a modern, efficient, and transparent procurement system that serves the best interests of the people of Sierra Leone.
